Our October employee of the month is Barbara Dierkes. Barb was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. She graduated from Ritenour High School. Barb married her husband Don on May 26, 1962 and they had 2 daughters. Barb was a homemaker while she was raising her children. She also did some odd jobs on the side to keep herself busy. She often went on family vacations around the United States and camping at Table Rock Lake often. Barb and Don were married for 41 years when he passed away in 2003. Barb has been a receptionist at GVCC for a little over a year. On her days off of work she enjoys quilting, sewing, and spending time with friends and family. Barb always gives exceptional service to our residents and families. We love you, Barb!

Introducing September’s Employee of the Month, Claudia! Claudia has done an amazing job in her role as a Registered Nurse for the residents at Garden View. Claudia has worked at Garden View for 2 years now. Claudia’s favorite part about working at Garden View is spending time with the residents. Claudia shares she enjoys all the residents different personalities and qualities. In her free time, Claudia enjoys swimming, spending time with her cat and dog, and working. Claudia has two children and two grandchildren who she also enjoys spending time with in addition to the above. We appreciate all Claudia has done here at Garden View and for going out of her way to take great care of the residents!

Our September employee of the month is Kayla Whittington. Kayla is from Normandy, MO. She graduated from North Technical High School where she also got certified as a Certified Nurse Assistant. She has worked as a CNA at Garden View for almost five years. She also has a hair business on the side which she is currently trying to expand. She says that being a CNA is great because she loves to give good care and have good relationships with the residents. She also states that great work ethic is very important to her. When she is off work, she enjoys listening to music and shopping online. Kayla shows her big heart by always helping our residents with everything they need. We love you, Kayla!

Spotlight on Terron McDuffie
Terron was born and raised in St. Louis. Terron enjoys spending time with his three children and doing activities with them such as going bowling, eating pizza and dancing. Terron is also a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals! Terron has worked for Garden View for almost 3 years now. Terron shared that he thinks Garden View is a great place and enjoys working with the residents. Terron brings great energy for activities and interacts very well with our residents. One of Terron’s favorite activities to do are the 1:1 activities with the residents to get to know them better. We appreciate all that Terron does! Thank you, Terron!

Our Employee of the Month for August is Deb Ciuffa. Deb was born and raised in St. Louis. She has worked at Garden View in the dietary department for 13 years, beginning in 2005. When she is not working, Deb enjoys spending time outdoors, gardening and reading novels. She says mystery and romance novels are her favorite to read. Deb says that she loves working at Garden View because she enjoys talking with the residents and getting to know them and their unique personalities. We are very lucky to have Deb as part of our team as she is always reliable and helpful to others. We love you, Deb!

Spotlight on Kristen Bertucci
Our Employee Spotlight for July is Kristen Bertucci. Kristen is originally from a little town south of Springfield, Illinois called Pawnee. She attended Eastern Illinois University where she studied Therapeutic Recreation. She moved to Missouri one year ago when she began working at Garden View as an Activity Coordinator. She says she has learned so much over the past year and she absolutely LOVES serving our residents as well as their family and friends. She says she can honestly say that there are so many exceptional and special people living, working, and volunteering at this facility and feels we’re like a second family! Kristen is very hard working and compassionate. You can always catch her with a smile on her face no matter what is asked of her. We love you, Kristen!
