Photojournalist and morning feature reporter Steve Harris wakes up early to report on News 4 This Morning from 4:00 – 7 a.m. with Cory Stark, Marissa Hollowed, Laura Hettiger and Kent Ehrhardt. He’s won 14 Emmy’s and 5 Edward R. Murrow Awards. Every Friday and once a week on Fridays he tells moving, inspirational stories of people who do amazing things in his “Harris Hero” feature. Steve came by The location at Dougherty Ferry to interview Gerri Duke, the Director of Nurses and Melanie Salmon the Assistant Director of Nurses who are not only passionate about taking care of their residents but are passionate about raising money for The Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Both Gerri and Melanie have organized with the help of other staff and community partners a car show festival on August 19th at 12:00pm – 5:00pm, a wonderful fundraiser to benefit the Walk to End Alzheimer’s . In 2016 owner Richard Winter of Garden View and his staff were recognized for being the 6th Top Walk Team Performer Nationwide for the “Walk to End Alzheimer’s” with their fundraising efforts collectively raising over $60,000 for The Alzheimer’s Assn.
